Nora's Nursery Tour

Hi all! Elyse here! (Shocking -- I know!!) HUGE thanks to Kristin for holding down the blog for us while I was being pregnant/unmotivated and having my baby! KP & I have chatted about how we want to get back into our blogging scene. What kinds of things would you like us to post about!?

Since Kristin showed you Leighelle's finished nursery, I thought I'd show you my Nora's nursery! Yep ladies & gentlemen (are there gentlemen who read this!? haha) I had a lil baby girl! Kristin & I are so excited for Nora & Leighelle to grow up as buddies and take over Exceptionally Chic one day. One day far, far away though! :)

Really before we even know Nora was a girl, Brandon and I wanted to keep the nursery very neutral. So, we started scouting out pieces and I just love how it all came together! We decided the colors would be gray, mint, and white -- with other pops of color mixed about. Check it out!

Meet the love of my life -- Nora Faye Rosengren! Born November 26th :)

Crib: Ikea // Crib sheet: Aden + Anais // Pillows: Home Goods, Blabla, gift
*And no, we do nooootttt keep pillows in her crib while she was sleeping! She is wide awake here and they came right out after pictures, I promise! :)

Mobile: Baby Jives // Art: Nora's Uncle Alex

Rocker: Babies R Us // Pillow: gift // Pouf: Land of Nod

I had to give a close up shot of the beautiful calligraphy piece that one of my bestie's Casey did! Our canvas is from Canvas On Demand (photo courtesy of Carah K Photography - if you are local, she is amazing!) and the N we made from a cardboard N bought from Joann Fabric that we half spray painted gold.

I found this bassinet at a consignment shop and it now is Nora's blanket holder -- so convenient! And art work again is from Brandon's brother, Alex.

Dresser, Clock, and Light: IKEA

Nora's Auntie Jayne made this teepee without a pattern! She is a sewing master. I told her my visions and she made them a reality. I love it! Rug: Ikea // Bear Art: Uncle Alex :)

One of my favorite corners of Nora's room, her reading nook! The room is completely white, but the nook is a mint green. I was gifted her "You Are So Loved" print, Brandon made the bookshelves out of pallets one day while he had some time at work, and the vintage rocking horse chair is from a HUGE antique show in Grand Rapids during the summer. (Space heater: Target) ;)

Lovelovelove that we were able to jam pack these book shelves after her baby shower! And love reading all the sweet messages people wrote in them.

This was hanging at her baby shower thrown by my amazing coworkers. Made by my sweet friend, Jen!

Mirror: Ikea (this was in here before it became a nursery, so we kept it. She looooves looking in it!) // Hoodie: The Wishing Elephant (don't judge me, the hoddie is a 2T. But I could not pass it up. It's adorable!)

I loved putting this room together and know that it will be able to grow with her as she does (or become a nursery for another baby some day if we are lucky!) Hope you enjoyed!

XO, E

Nursery Finishing Touches

Well... it only took 10 months to finish her room, but the final touches are done :)
We were scared to put holes in the wallpaper so we used the tiniest nails we could find!!

It's time to share ... the Salazar Wedding!

Hello, all! We are SO excited to be sharing with you the beautiful wedding of Rachel and Jason! They were married at Stonycreek Metropark in Shelby Township, Michigan. The ceremony took place in the woods at Sheldon Estates and the reception was just a short ways away at the Sunset Terrace tent. The venue was absolutely spectacular, with the ceremony having a woodsy, whimsical vibe and then the reception was a sparkling, lakeside event. We worked with the greatest vendors and truly loved watching the stunning day unfold. We were so lucky to work with such a great bride and groom, as well as the sweetest vendors in the business. Congratulations Rachel and Jason, thank you for trusting us with your magical day!

Please enjoy some of the special moments we captured on our cellphones! XO, E&K

View from behind the ceremony ... look at that stunning arch!

The groomsmen are ready to roll!

Loved this burlap aisle runner!

Look at this sweet flower girl!

There goes the beautiful bride!

Inside the Sunset Terrace tent. It looked absolutely perfect!

The place card table - everyone was gifted a split of champagne which contained their name and table number (juice boxes for the kiddos!) :)

Bean bags were set up for the gusts to enjoy lakeside

Guests also could enjoy their appetizers outside, where the band was set up during cocktail hour

The far tent was transformed into a cocktail lounge where guests could relax and enjoy the lakeview

Beautiful cake inspired by Pinterest! The cake plate was purchased in Holly at the Pigeon and Parlour, and we spray painted it gold to match the wedding colors. It turned out perfect!

It was a fantastic day!

Here are some of the awesome people/vendors that we met. We highly recommend and think you would be extremely satisfied using the following on your special day:

MILKaholic Baby Shower

Hello all!

Long time no chat!!  Summertime sure is busy busy busy!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth of July!!

I went to the cutest "MILKaholic" themed baby shower a couple weeks ago and I had to share some of their ideas :)

These were the favors that each guest received at their place setting. They collected Frappuccino bottles, pealed off the labels and painted the cap. Doesn't it look just like an old school milk bottle?!
The chocolates inside were homemade and the 'milk' mustaches tied around each bottle was a cute addition.

One of the games (that I had never played before) was to create a baby out of Play-Doh. There were tons of funny masterpieces!!! Mine is the second one in from the left with the pink tutu on :)

As you arrived, these darling numbers were being passed around.

There were so many cute touches and it was a unique idea (at least for me!) so I thought I would share!!

Congratulations again, Kristy and Tom!!! We cannot wait to meet and love on your baby girl!!!!!

XO-K

PS...Stay tuned for more pics of the beautiful Stony Creek Metro Park Wedding!!!  Talk to you all soon!!

Wooden Monogram for Baby Girl's Nursery

As I perused through Etsy one day looking at nursery ideas, I came across a wooden monogram that I had to have!!  The Etsy store was was called Me Myself and Jeff.  I loved everything about it; the price, the font, the finish, etc.  So I decided to put a gift certificate (we were keeping the name a secret) for the store on myregistry.com

As part of my shower gift, my Mom and Sis purchased it for us!  Since Mitch painted the walls himself, he was a bit apprehensive to hang it.  But, we finally hung it...with those "no nail needed" 3M strips!!

I was told that the store owner was very nice and accommodating!  In addition, it was made and shipped out SUPER fast!!  (Thank you!!!!) :-)

Just a few more things to do and her nursery with be complete!!!!

Have a GREAT (rainy) day!!

XO, K

PS... The changing pad cover was made by another Etsy shop called iviebaby.  She also did a pillow cover for our glider.  VERY sweet and talented!!  :-)
