It's time to share ... the Salazar Wedding!

Hello, all! We are SO excited to be sharing with you the beautiful wedding of Rachel and Jason! They were married at Stonycreek Metropark in Shelby Township, Michigan. The ceremony took place in the woods at Sheldon Estates and the reception was just a short ways away at the Sunset Terrace tent. The venue was absolutely spectacular, with the ceremony having a woodsy, whimsical vibe and then the reception was a sparkling, lakeside event. We worked with the greatest vendors and truly loved watching the stunning day unfold. We were so lucky to work with such a great bride and groom, as well as the sweetest vendors in the business. Congratulations Rachel and Jason, thank you for trusting us with your magical day!

Please enjoy some of the special moments we captured on our cellphones! XO, E&K

View from behind the ceremony ... look at that stunning arch!

The groomsmen are ready to roll!

Loved this burlap aisle runner!

Look at this sweet flower girl!

There goes the beautiful bride!

Inside the Sunset Terrace tent. It looked absolutely perfect!

The place card table - everyone was gifted a split of champagne which contained their name and table number (juice boxes for the kiddos!) :)

Bean bags were set up for the gusts to enjoy lakeside

Guests also could enjoy their appetizers outside, where the band was set up during cocktail hour

The far tent was transformed into a cocktail lounge where guests could relax and enjoy the lakeview

Beautiful cake inspired by Pinterest! The cake plate was purchased in Holly at the Pigeon and Parlour, and we spray painted it gold to match the wedding colors. It turned out perfect!

It was a fantastic day!

Here are some of the awesome people/vendors that we met. We highly recommend and think you would be extremely satisfied using the following on your special day:

MILKaholic Baby Shower

Hello all!

Long time no chat!!  Summertime sure is busy busy busy!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth of July!!

I went to the cutest "MILKaholic" themed baby shower a couple weeks ago and I had to share some of their ideas :)

These were the favors that each guest received at their place setting. They collected Frappuccino bottles, pealed off the labels and painted the cap. Doesn't it look just like an old school milk bottle?!
The chocolates inside were homemade and the 'milk' mustaches tied around each bottle was a cute addition.

One of the games (that I had never played before) was to create a baby out of Play-Doh. There were tons of funny masterpieces!!! Mine is the second one in from the left with the pink tutu on :)

As you arrived, these darling numbers were being passed around.

There were so many cute touches and it was a unique idea (at least for me!) so I thought I would share!!

Congratulations again, Kristy and Tom!!! We cannot wait to meet and love on your baby girl!!!!!

XO-K

PS...Stay tuned for more pics of the beautiful Stony Creek Metro Park Wedding!!!  Talk to you all soon!!

Wooden Monogram for Baby Girl's Nursery

As I perused through Etsy one day looking at nursery ideas, I came across a wooden monogram that I had to have!!  The Etsy store was was called Me Myself and Jeff.  I loved everything about it; the price, the font, the finish, etc.  So I decided to put a gift certificate (we were keeping the name a secret) for the store on myregistry.com

As part of my shower gift, my Mom and Sis purchased it for us!  Since Mitch painted the walls himself, he was a bit apprehensive to hang it.  But, we finally hung it...with those "no nail needed" 3M strips!!

I was told that the store owner was very nice and accommodating!  In addition, it was made and shipped out SUPER fast!!  (Thank you!!!!) :-)

Just a few more things to do and her nursery with be complete!!!!

Have a GREAT (rainy) day!!

XO, K

PS... The changing pad cover was made by another Etsy shop called iviebaby.  She also did a pillow cover for our glider.  VERY sweet and talented!!  :-)

Easy Nursery Wall Art with Great Great Grandma's Old Buttons!!

Well hello there!!

Loooooong time, no chat!!

Leighelle's nursery is SO close to being done...never mind she is two months old... :-)  All we need to do is hang some items we already have.  I think Mitch is afraid (as am I) to put holes in the newly painted/wallpapered walls.

My mom gave me an old mason jar FULL of old buttons from my Grandmother and Great Grandmother.  I have been wanting to do something with them for months now.  I decided that I wanted to shape them into an L on a canvas for Leighelle's room.  The finished product is below!

The steps I did it in were NOT the best...but I will share:

1.)  Picked out the buttons I thought were cool.
2.)  Drew a cursive L on a white canvas.
3.)  Laid out the buttons how I wanted them (the last picture).
4.)  Spray painted (the only thing I had in the house that was pink) the other canvas.
5.)  TRIED to lay the buttons out into the L in the same fashion by eyeballing my first layout. (I should
have painted, drew the L, THEN put the buttons on).  Ah well.

I like my first layout better, but it turned out ok in the end.  Scroll down to see what products I used to complete this easy speesy project.

*my finished product

*it was hard to choose out of so many cool buttons

*works great and dries clear

*did not want to buy anything new, so just used this :-)

Happy Memorial Day weekend!!

Thank you to all the heroes out there for your selfless sacrifice and service!
