Thank Goodness It's A FAB (Good) Friday!!!

Hi everyone!

What a GLORIOUS day :-)
Well, besides my rough morning of me jumping out of bed thinking I was late for work (about 6:15 am) and not getting back to sleep forEVER...but it's ALL good now :-)

Elyse and I figured that we should chat a bit about fashion this Friday cuz the last few Fridays have been home-y stuff.

Today I wanted to talk about a fabulous item that I purchased a while back.  I LOVE my People Magazine and as I was flipping through, there was a page about specific items upon purchase the company would donate to some awesome organizations.  I fell in love with the "Dress for Success" scarf.
Echo is proud to collaborate with Dress for Success to create this limited edition scarf.

"The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.  For every scarf sold on EchoDesign.com, $15 will be donated to Dress for Success Worldwide."

How cool is that?!?!  So, not only did I LOVE the scarf (it's message, colors, etc.) I loved where the money would be donated to and the organization it represented.

I hope everyone has an amazing Easter weekend!!!

Talk to you again on Moday's Mode!!

What a FAB Good Friday!

Hello our dear readers! Kristin & I are feeling some relief today because SPRING BREAK is here! A week of relaxation for me and a bachelorette party in Vegas for her! And today the sun is shining and the weather is getting to the 50s .... everything is just fabulous about this Friday!

It's been awhile since we've brought you a fashion fab fri, so I decided to talk today about my glasses. Now, let me tell you that I have a LOVE relationship with my glasses. My hubs had lasik and he loves that, but to me, glasses are my fashion accessory. I also wear contacts (pretty much every day), but when I want to switch it up, I love that I can rock my specs. Because of insurance reasons, I only got new contacts this time around at the eye doctor, but I was totally in need of a change in my glasses options. Through the grapevine I heard about an awesome website called Warby Parker. Let me tell you the perks of order your glasses from here:

1) They will donate a pair of glasses to someone who needs them (kinda like Toms does!) for every purchase made from their website. This was my #1 reason for buying from them. Any company that does this has my heart.

2) They are SUPER affordable! Like, cheaper than the eye doctor (sorry, doc!)

3) They do an "at home" try-on. For free! So, you get to pick 5 different frames/colors you want, wear them around for a week, then ship them back with the prepaid label. And you can do this as many times as you want! It took me 3 try-ons to finalllllllly find my fave pair. And here they are!

*in this particular selfie, i was also trying to model my new patagonia jacket my hubs brought home for me. thus ... creepy. so let's focus on the glasses ;-)*

*i am loving the round shape!*

So, if you're looking for glasses .... I hope I've given you some inspiration! I've also recently started looking at a cute little site called Firmoo and may be order a pair from there in the near future. Seriously, I can't get enough glasses!

Hope all ya'll have a GREAT Easter weekend and we'll see you back on Monday with some fabulous fashions! XO, E

THE Final Count Down....

WHOA!!! Where the heck did July to March go?????????

I remember people saying that it would be here before I knew it....boy were they correct!!!  Good thing I started early!

However, due to planning this wedding ourselves...NOW is when the nitty gritty stuff needs to be figured out and I am starting to feel a BIT overwhelmed :-)  It'll all be fabulous...It'll all work out...It's gonna be GREAT!!!!  (Just reminding myself...ha!)

I would like to mention a few things that are REALLY helping me get through this time and touch upon things that are SUPER important...

1.) Organization, organization, organization!!!

**THE wedding binder....

My (soon to be) Mother in Law and I wrote up a week by week time-line/to-do list on when
to do what the next four weeks....

**As you can see, items that were to be done last weekend are still not highlighted... GULP
2.)  Don' be a afraid to ask for HELP!!  (I do need to take my advice on this one...)  But as soon as I
get the details of what ribbon, color of paint, archway details, guest basket items, card box
material, ETC... I DO plan on delegating... :-)  I have the GREATEST friends and EXTREMELY
supportive family that keeps asking what they can do.  I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
      fortunate!!
3.)  And lastly, save time for one another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  HELP one another and do not lose sight of
what all of this wonderful planning is for....the TWO of YOU!!!

**Mitch and I walked to dinner last night for our "ONE month before the big day" evening together!!! :-)
Ill keep you posted as the day approaches....

WW: The Final Month!

As Kristin is approaching her final month til her wedding, we were talking about what our WW should be about. And then, the more we talked about this last month countdown, the more we thought we would have good things to share ...thus, a blog post- born! I wanted to talk about the things that I was stressed/exciting/thinking/wondering/worrying/anticipating about in my final month and thought she could do the same. With both of us having weddings at very different times, I have a feeling these will be very different posts!

First of all, I must say that I was lucky because my final month was when I was not working (teacher perk!) So, from the day that I got out of school, I was wedding 24/7. I can't imagine how Kristin is doing this while trying to teach full time. So, HUGE props to you, KP! I had to give up some fun things (like the Waxette, our teacher-friend group getaway! Which is always a blast) because I was just worried about getting everything in line for the wedding. Brandon was awesome about always asking, calling whomever, picking up whatever, and just being there to listen when I needed him. So, my first advice is to lean on your finacé for support totally. And still make time to spend QT with him or her when you are NOT talking about the wedding. In that last month it becomes so consuming, that it's easy to lose sight of just the two of it. Go on a date, take a walk, share some cocktails...just something that is not weddingweddingwedding.

*this was afternoon wedding prep, but after we had a pool party just B&E, and it was awesome*

My second piece of advice in that final month is to take help! There will be a bunch of people who will offer to help you, which is incredible. Planning a wedding is so humbling because you feel so much love from everyone .. and that everyone will want to help you! While I don't recommend taking alllllll that help, I do recommend asking a handful of really trusted people to help. If you really can't fathom not seeing what people are doing as they help you, maybe ask those bridesmaids of yours to come have a wine night with you and put together programs, or head out to lunch and run some errands. You can ask them for help and it can still be fun! I will never forget the morning of my rehearsal dinner trying to type up my seating chart and fit them into these random frames we had bought, only to find out that the frames didn't have backs you could take out (they were for real legit pictures). I was in such a panic I tore through my house pulling frames off multiple walls and probably finished the chart oh an hour before the dinner, STRESSFUL! So, seriously, do nottttt try to do everything yourself...

*a picture of my seating chart. my dad rocked my socks and got this old barn wood from a friend and recreated a door. just lil ole me waited until the last possible second to type up the names. yep, all those frames are from pictures that were in our house!*

*my awesome father-in-law took on this lighting project all by himself...turned out AMAZING*

...Which leads me to my next point: planning your wedding is HARD. I thought I had everything down. I aspired to be a wedding planner! I had read a ton of blogs, looked all over Pinterest, checked out every aspect of the Knot... but there were still things I definitely forgot or overlooked. Don't be afraid to get a wedding planner! Even for small parts of the process, or even for the actual day! I couldn't have done it without my day-of coordinator, Lindsay Bannasch (of The Fountains), who I knew I could put my total trust in. She was there the whole day and even when the night was way over I found her folding tablecloths (so of course, I had to get her a drink!) She probably worked as hard in that one day than I did in my whole planning. It became the best thing EVER to me because I never once felt stressed, worried, or even thought about what was going on behind the scenes. At one point, our outdoor porta-potty bathrooms (that were super delux!) were overflowing and I asked my dad about it, but Lindsay had already called and given the company a piece of her mind. Thanks to some handy guests, everything got fixed, but it was awesome that Linds was right on top of it. So, Lindsay, I love you dearly and still can't thank you enough for making my wedding day perfection! As far as wedding coordinators go, check her out at the Fountains, she is amazing. This is what Kristin & I hope to be one day, your go-to gals for weddings, parties, or any events because we KNOW what it's like and we love to plan/help!

*this is Kristin helping me AT the rehearsal dinner. we renamed chardonnay "char-day" and thought it was THE funniest thing. (we had maybe had a few glasses of char-day already) so thankful for her!*

So, if you are in your final month of wedding prep--congrats to you! You are almost there! Soak in this entire month because (and I know this is cliché) it will go by in a blink. Don't stress over details because chances are, no one will even notice them. If there's something that needs to get done, ask for help. Don't feel like you HAVE to do this yourself because you don't. On an upcoming WW I will talk about the things I forgot in that final month (and then also talk about how much it didn't matter when it came down to it), but today I just wanted to offer some support, throw out some advice, and hope that it calms you down a little bit. Even if it doesn't -- being a bride is one of the BEST experience I've ever had in my life, so I can promise you that everything you do up to the day will be SO worth it! XO, E

(PS: Other things you will want to remember in that last month: teeth whitening, eyebrow waxing/threading, mani/pedi, waterproof mascara, dancing shoes ... just to name a few) ;-)

E's Mode of Monday

Hello all! I'm back from a crazy quick, but CRAZY fun road trip to St. Louis to visit my bestie, Jayne. It was so fun! If you ever get a chance to hit up The City Museum, DO! You feel like a kid again. Thank you Jayne & Darren for being the most fabulous hosts we could ever ask for! I miss you already, Jayne!!

For my outfits this week, I only had 3 that were "worth it" to me. On Monday (after St. Patrick's Day), I just couldn't bring myself to wear something nice.... haha. So, here what I've got for ya!

Outfit #1
(I, too, am trying to convince Spring that it's ok to show it's pretty face by dressing in Spring attire. So far, it's not working out...)

Outfit #3
Shirt: Nordstrom
Necklace: Nordstrom (close up of that & my shoes below)
Pencil Skirt: H&M

I wanted to close up of these two things because I absolutely LOVE them. The shoes are the most comfortable shoes ever and I know that at one time they came in black & brown at Target (similar: here) and my fabulous friend, Jenni, got my hooked on them after she bought them. My necklace is mint and as of late, my two favorite colors together have been coral & mint (conveniently my wedding colors!) so I wanted to show off how cute this necklace was.

Hope you all have a fabulous week! I know we got some more instagram & facebook followers this week, so we are excited! I am also so excited to see Kristin after school today to talk about the direction of our blog & her wedding plans (which as of tomorrow, will be 1 month away!!!!) Talk Wednesday!

Well, hello you fabulous Friday!

Today on this fab, fab Friday (I got a new car yesterday- yayyy! Seriously, guys, I haven't had a new car in 7 years...) as I was thinking about what to write about and walking around my house, it dawned on me! Our super cute Etsy chandelier. The reason why I am so in love with this chandy is mostly because our house has 4 rooms and every single room came with a ceiling fan. Every.single.one. We literally have 5 ceiling fans because our living room was included in that total. How drab! So, slowly, but surely, we are changing the ceiling fans out for some baller light fixtures. This was our first dabble in the change. I am constantly searching Etsy for the latest and greatest and once we found this we did what we always do first, ask Brandon's dad if he can duplicate it. Because more often than not, Bruce can figure out how to build it. But, after he looked at it, he gave in and said that he probably couldn't because of all the delicate cutting of the wood...which means we went ahead and bought it! I love the look of it, as we have touches of that minty blue all around our living room. And going from a ceiling fan to this? Serious upgrade!

Pretty, right?! It actually has a new vintage lightbulb in it since I took this picture from Restoration Hardware, which makes it all the more vintage and cool. And really, it was so easy to put together! All of the pieces fit together like a puzzle. We love it!

Have a great weekend ya'll! I am off to St. Louis to spend some QT with one of my besties! Chat Monday! Xo, E

I heart Fab Friday!!!

Goooooood Day to You!!!  Happy happy Friday!

Today I am going to chat about another creation of ours.  My Mom and Aunt let Mitch and I take a look around my Grandparents poll barn to see if there were any treasures that we would like for our new place.  Well, my Grandfather was an AMAZING artist so the treasures/memories were overwhelming!  We had to go back a second time :-)

We took home a sweet leather trunk, a few picture frames, a roll of old fabric (he once designed the pattern of the material used for the interior seat covers in automobiles), and a key ring full of keys-to name a few FAB finds (I am sure I will be blogging about the other find one day soon).  Anyway, the key ring had about twenty old rusty keys.  No one was really sure where the keys came from (or what they belonged to) but I had to have them.  They sat on my counter for a couple days before I came up with my idea.  I would make a "P" for Pierce (my soon to be new last name-or for Palmgren my current last name-my initials won't change :-) !!!) out of them and put one of my Grandfathers old frames around it!!

So, one Friday night I started creating.  I spray painted the frame white, bought a little canvas from Michael's (painted it with the left over Chalk Paint that we had from the shutters) and glued the keys on into a "P" shape.... and VoilĂ !!

We hung it on the wall in the guest bedroom because the canvas matched the headboard so well :-)

Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!!!

Chat again Monday!

BACHELORETTE PARTY Wednesday!

Helloooo all! Today we are talking Bachelorette parties on the blog! In my opinion, one of the most exciting things that lead up to the actual wedding. Just a time to relax with the people you love the most. After talking to Kristin, we decided we would talk about my bachelorette party today, as Kristin's hasn't happened yet. I'll give you a hint about hers though ... there will be TWO! She can give you the details when they get here (and they're coming QUICK!)

So for mine! It all started one night when I was on iChat with Jayne and Lindey (you remember them, my MOH's!) They had planned a presentation for me and made slides for each destination that they had in mind. They narrowed it down to three: Put-In-Bay in Ohio, Traverse City for wine tasting, or down to Detroit for some fun. Now THIS was a tough choice for me. After seriously about 2 weeks of thought, I finally decided on Detroit. My #1 reason was that it was close enough to home so that people could come & go at their leisure. (I'm going to get honest here about Bachelorette parties... they are not always so much fun for everyone. I mean, yes, they are TOTALLY fun, but if you don't know all the girls involved, or aren't SUPER close to the bride but close enough to get invited, it's sometimes awkward to do a "stay the night" thing. I knew particularly that I would be inviting girls from work that I was close to, girls that I've been friends with for a long time who don't live around here anymore and don't know anyone, and then my hometown friends ... with a group that mixed I wanted everyone to just feel that they could come & go. And I think (hope!) it worked out well for all. Please don't think I'm anti-social or anti-fun because I said this, I hope people can relate!)

So anyways, Jayne started going head strong into planning. We finally decided on the following itinerary: Brunch, Photoshoot around Detroit (we got our own photographer for the day!), Tiger's Game, Dinner, Bar hop. Jayne had these seriously awesome invites made for the day on Etsy:

*my glorious instagram photo of it ...taken right from my fridge!*

Starting out with brunch was so much fun! Not only because they had bottomless mimosas, but it allowed for people like my friend Amy, who had a basically newborn baby, to come for a little bit. It was here where we did gifts, which I will not be posting any pictures of...I'll leave it to the imagination! We went to Dino's Lounge in Ferndale and shoutout to them for giving us seriously excellent service!

Next we headed down to Greektown Casino to get ready for our limo bus to pick us up for our photoshoot. This was where LINDEY totally surprised me, after she had told me that she wouldn't be able to make it. Craziest/best/coolest surprise of my life!

We met our photographer, Jeff Snow, at the casino. He was actually Brandon's coworker at the time, but now has become way important for Smartwool out in Colorado, so we don't get to see him anymore! Serious thanks, cheers, props, to him for dealing with 20ish girls all afternoon! He was so rad. And another huge shoutout to his wife, Sara, who is equally awesome and let us borrow her husband all day. This is the point in the Bach where 1 thing went wrong, the limo bus was late. And then when it came it was pink! But it also couldn't take us on any highways? That bus company was a debacle. Here is Jayne with her itinerary. She had it down to a T. She is the best! She is also in mid-panic here.

*notice it says Easy's E's Final Countdown, with check marks for what everyone was doing. The girl has google docs in her back pocket*

*Jayne also made me this amazing sash that was double sided. this side in my wedding colors, the other in Tiger's colors. please help me convince her to start an ebay store*

We then started our glam photoshoot. This was seriously so fun. Riding around on the bus, blowing up inappropriate balloons, drinking champagne, singing, dancing, and just being crazy girls. We went to Tiger's Stadium, the old train station in downtown Detroit, the Heidleberg Project, and then we changed into our Tiger's gear and headed back to Tiger's stadium. It worked out perfectly because our next stop was the game! I loved our photoshoot and all the pictures that came of it. I mean seriously, doesn't Jeff Snow ROCK as a photog?! (and I'm only showing you a few of the MANY pics I got!) And how often in your life can you get someone to paparazzi you around like that? It was my time to be Kim Kardashian for a day (minus her behind).

*there's about a million more AWESOME pics i'd be glad to show you if you've got the time*

At the Tiger's game all I'm thinking about is how I have to pee, so I'm rushing to the bathroom when a bunch of the girls found Fox Sports and told them what they were doing, so since the next day was Father's Day, they wanted us to record a segment for it! I'm not sure how I will ever top my shoutout to my dad on National television as a Father's Day gift in the future. I wonder if my mom still has it on DVR.... maybe I can just replay it for him again this year? ha!

*got this as a picture text the day it aired from someone. The best part of this was that B did not believe this story at all. And then BOOM, after about 1.5 hours of rain delay, there were me & my girls! What is even funnier is that I got like 3 emails (2 from students, 1 from a parent) telling me that they saw me on TV while they were eating dinner. ha!*

After shenanigans in the Tiger's Den and just a lil bit of watching the game, we finally found our way back to the hotel to change for dinner. We had a seriously yummy meal at Fountain Bistro. They were so awesome, they had a champagne toast ready for us and the waiter was fantastic. Then Jeff came BACK (I told you, he's amazing) and took some really sweet shots of us at night before we hit the town.

At this point, I can only tell you that we started out with a cute lil table at a cute little bar in the D and ended up in a tent somewhereeeeee else. At a point, Jayne was taking shots that people were buying me and throwing them out on the ground because I was just exhausted! ;-) And then thank you Kristin and Jayne for basically carrying me home and never once letting me take off my shoes in the dirty streets of Detroit, as badly as I wanted to. Greektown Casino was our safe lil abode for the night. And sleep was all I could ask for.

So seriously, it was one of the BEST days of my life. Jayne, you blew it out of the water with your planning. Everyone who helped her, you are the coolest. Everyone that came and went throughout the day ... you mean THE world to me. Shoutouts to Caitlin who came all the way from Florida! And hugeeee thanks/hugs to Jayne who planned everything AND came from St. Louis. And my surprise guest, Lindey Loo, who came from I think Tennessee! It's days like that when you realize, "Wow, I am so lucky to be where I am with who I've got" and I wouldn't change that for the world.

Hope this leaves you with some good ideas if you are planning/having a Bach! I'd love to help with any tips... I am a pretty BA theme party planner! XOXO, E

*forgot to mention that B had his Bachelor party the same day...this is him & lindey the day after... if you're sleeping without a pillow, i'd say you had a little bit of fun*

**ALL bachelorette party pics courtesy of Jeff Snow ... if you're in Steamboat, CO... check him out! Can't thank you enough, Jeff!!!**

Hello FAB Friday!

Today on this fabulous Friday I am going to write about something that is near and dear to me... my camera! While I am not even close to being a photographer, I like to dabble in photography and you will find me taking my camera just about everywhere. If you are my friend, there's a chance you have been paparazzied by me. Actually if you are a stranger or a random building or an animal, you also have that chance. Taking the ugly (sorry, Canon!) black, boring camera bag around wasn't really my style so I started to take HUGE purses places so that I could bring my camera. And then one day I discovered Jo Totes. And that was one happy day in my life. Camera bags for women? That look like purses? Money. So, my sweet mama bought me one for my birthday that year and now I am the most fashionable paparazzi around! (well, I like to think so anyways...)

Just when I thought my camera (it's a Canon T2i incase you are wondering) couldn't get any more fabulous...I got the most wonderful gift from my super cool, awesome, fabulous bestie, Jayne, for my birthday this year. A pretty little camera strap! It's lace & burlap and reminds me of all things from my wedding. I know she got it from Etsy, but I have found a similar one here. How cute is that!? So now, not only do I look adorbs while carrying my camera, but also while wearing it! I guess now I really have no excuse to learn everything about this lil guy. We'll consider this my summer project!

TGI FAB Friday!!

Hi hi all!

Hope everyone had a FAB week and has fun weekend plans!

My fab find this week is our vintage Pepsi bottle crate.  I was antiquing in Downtown Holly again and this fab item caught my eye (at the Battle Alley Antiques Arcade Mall again).  Our kitchen is accented in yellow (this picture does not do this lil' number justice) and knew right away I had to have it!  I purchased it not really knowing what I was going to do with it....

While driving home, my head was spinning with ideas.  Then, it hit me!!! I remembered my awesome Penzeys Spices that I had!!  I received my first batch as a gift and LOVED them!  This crate would be a PERFECT home for them!!  AND I could hang its awesomeness on the wall!!!!  Ok, I know what you're are thinking, ummm TWO spices? Really? That is all that I had left because I use them all the time!  I have an order in for more :-)

Whelp, hope you enjoyed our Fab Friday finds!!!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Chat again Monday!

Wedding Wednesday!!

Hello wonderful readers!

Welcome to Wedding Wednesday!!

Elyse and I were talking this week on which one of us should write for Wedding Wednesday.  I have to admit I am a little "shy" to discuss my wedding plans, because nothing is finalized (I mean, the big super important stuff is <ugh, besides the DJ-that story is for another day>, but I am talking about all the nitty gritty stuff).  A lot of ideas are flying around in my noggin and will come to fruition as the final weeks near, but as you saw, Elyse's wedding was BEAUTIFUL and she had soooo many fab ideas. I thought she should keep it up cuz I know many of you want to see more!! :-)  I threw a couple ideas out there of what I could discuss and we decided that I would talk about my soon to be "brooch bouquet"!!!

I was not the girl that had her future wedding planned out whatsoever (if you do, more power to ya!  You will have a MUCH easier time).  As I got older, I was not sure what my finances would be with my future husband and I (making the big bucks as a teacher and all).  I had little ideas in my head that I wanted (simple/elegant/DIFFERENT touches) but the big picture was pretty much a blank canvas.  All I have to say is THANK GOODNESS FOR Pinterest/The Knot/Wedding Bee/Etsy/Etc!!!

As I saw different inspirations, my vision started to piece itself together.  One idea that I fell in love with, on Pinterest, was the idea of the brooch bouquet.  I went back and forth with fresh flowers vs. paper flowers vs. brooches for a couple days.  I made a paper flower (below) and a fabric flower (THAT one did not turn out well, so it will not be pictured) just to see what I liked and what I wanted to incorporate.

My girlfriend/bridesmaid/bestie, Rebecca was visiting from MO during this same time (to go dress shopping with me!!!) and we had dinner at another great friend's house, Renee. I told them my idea/vision and they LOVED it. Come to find out, Renee had helped make one at the flower shop she used to work at and offered to help my mom and I with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot remember which one of us came up with idea that it would be SWEET if I could fill my bouquet up with flower brooches from loved ones and decided to ask guests of my bridal showers to bring a flower brooch with them, if they had one. Rebecca and I the next day headed to Fowler, MI to check out Becker's Bridal and it's "Magic Room" to try on bridal gowns.  On our way home we hit up about SIX thrift/antique shops and found about 10 beautiful treasures to get the ball rolling (a special thank you to Yesterday's Treasures, in Fenton MI).  The picture below are the brooches from Rebecca and I's adventure plus the ones I received as a gift for my first shower in January (put on by my beautiful, kind, giving, loving, AMAZING-the list goes on forever-bridesmaids).

To "soften" the look a bit, my mom made some beautiful tulle roses and wired a couple hair clips/pins from Thirty One.  I decided that I would make six more paper flowers for my two special flower girls/junior bridesmaids/mini maids to hold as their bouquets.

Here are the first batch of brooches wired (below).  Just waiting for the rest to arrive :-)  Thank you Mom!!!!!  Once we have all of them and they are wired Renee, my Mom and I will piece it all together one by one.  We will use a satin ribbon to cover all of the wire "stems".

My second shower was this past Sunday.  I got SO many more GORGEOUS flower brooches.  The AMAZING host, Kim, came up with the adorable idea (below) to display the brooches on.  One of the scarfs (the white one) was actually worn in one of her girlfriends weddings.

BOY, did I get some AMAZING brooches. The best part was MANY of them are from grandma's and great grandma's passed down. Each one is so extremely special!!! And I get to keep them FOREVER! :-)  Thank you EVERYONE for these special treasures!!  It is so very special that these keepsakes will be with me forever.

I will share my end product with you after it is allllllll completed!

Have a GREAT day!!!!

Fafafafafaaab Friday

Hello and TGIF!!!

To piggy back off of Elyse I, too, would like to say thank you to all of our likers, followers, readers, page viewers, sharers, supporters, etc!!!!  I am having a BLAST with this bloggin' thing and it means the world that others are enjoying it too :-)  I drove the entire way to work this morning without music...never mind I was blowing Elyse's phone up with all my "talk to text" texts...but I was just thinking about today's blog, next weeks posts and how fun and FAB all of this is!!

My fiance and I just moved into a new (well, 120 ish year old) home and are having THE best time jazzing it up.  It has so much character by itself we wanted to be sure to find things that were unique and added to its charm.  Unfortunately the "jazzing" has come to a halt with all the wedding planning, but we'll be back at it soon :-)

The first "FAB find" I wanted to share with you was "Operation Headboard".  We did not have a headboard for our guest bedroom and wanted to find some cool old window shutters to create it out of. The vision was there in my head...I just couldn't find what I wanted.  Mitch (my fiance) and I headed downtown Holly to go thrifting/antique-ing.  There are SO many cool places downtown!!!  We ended up finding the coolest things (more to be discussed next week).  We ended up finding (at Battle Alley Arcade Antiques Mall) four old shutters for a STEAL!!  They would be perfect (with a little TLC).  We bopped around a bit more and discovered Chalk Paint at the Pigeon in the Parlour!!!  This stuff was SWEET, check it out when you get a second... ANY Whooozles... The before and after is below!!!  I am still on a mission to find cool letters to go above it that spell out "Dream", "Family", or not exactly sure yet.... :-)

The entire lower level of the house has hard wood floors so I was on a cool rug hunt for WEEKS.  One day I typed in "unique rugs" (or something of that fashion) and stumbled upon the website One King's Lane.  It has really neat stuff...but if you snooze, ya lose-it goes quick!!!  Of course I got side tracked and somehow ended up in the pillow sale section and fell in love with about 10 pillows... (I think I ended up Pinning all of them)... But one particular pillow won my heart.  I felt as though it was MADE for my living room. Plus it makes me 'smile' every time I walk in the room.   Elyse and I ended up buying our sweet pillows from the same place (probably knowing us, on the same day)!!!  I absolutely LOVE hers too and it looks awesome in her newly revamped den!

Now to start my day job...Let's see, what am I teaching in Geometry today... :-)
Have a wonderful weekend!!!!
