winter BLUES fashion

Hi all! Kristin is modeling probably the cutest dress I've ever seen on a pregnant person today (she wore this to her shower and I fell in love with it!) and I'm modeling my travel wear - aka what I wore on the plane on my way back from some place warm I just went. ;) I've got my Toms wedges on too, which are my new favorite best shoe. Seriously if you wanted to run a marathon in them you probably could ...yes, they are that comfy. Have a great week! XO, E & K

Pillow Sale!

Hey there, blog world! I have all intentions on this sunny day to talk about a lil sunny vaycay I just returned from, but then I decided against it because I didn't want to make anyone jealous after we just got a bazillion more inches of snow in MI.

Then, I checked my email and found out that this pillowcase was on sale! And so I need to share!

Who knows how I found this pillow, but I've been following Michelle Dwight Designs on Instagram for awhile and knew I wanted to get one of these for my couch! I got one when she was having a Valentine's Day sale, and I just saw that there is a sale on Style Lately (a GREAT deal website) right now! The pillow comes separate and I ended up ordering mine on amazon. I think it's the cutest accessory to my cuddly couch!

And isn't this never ending winter just the most perfect time to cuddle?! XO, E

My "&" pillows are from Crate & Barrel and my other pillow is from Target. Couch from Art Van Clearance!

Birdcage Chandelier - DIY

From one of my perusing trips in downtown Holly, I stumbled across an antique birdcage with a chandelier underneath it.  Brilliant!!!  I instantly fell in love with it for Baby Girl's Nursery!  However...it was pricey with a capital P...but it was super big and beautiful-worth it?  I couldn't decide.  I stewed on for a couple weeks and saved up my tutoring scruples still debating.  I decided that I had to have it, went back and it was GONE! Guess it wasn't meant to be...

Long story short, the store was able to find me another one that was similar, however after we measured it, Mitch and I realized that it was way too long for her room.  We would bonk our heads on it for sure.

So, I decided that I was going to make my own.  I searched everywhere for the perfect birdcage, then with the interior measurements, I hunted for a chandelier that would fit inside.  After a couple trial and errors, I found the one that fit great!

My inspiration:

My end product:

Birdcage found on Etsy

It looks a little peachy in the pic, but it is a sweet pink color :-)

We purchased the ceiling decal (not sure what they are called at the moment) from Amazon.com

My crafty Hubby drilled through the top of the birdcage so the chandelier would hang straight... AND put a dimmer switch on it for night time cuddles in the glider :-)

Chandelier from Wayfair.com

Excuse the "stuff" in her room...we still have just a bit more organizing to do...

There you have it!

We ended up saving $160 by doing it ourselves!! Yay for DIYs!!!

Baby Girl Shower Favors

Hello!

Another beautiful shower for Baby Girl has come and gone. We are so blessed to have the family and friends we do!!! Baby girl is already spoiled!!! My Mom, Sis and Bestie threw our second shower for us. It was gorgeous.

They had the cutest idea for favors so I thought I would share it with you :)

They were made up of nail polish, a nail file, tulle, ribbon, a big safety pin, toothpick, thank you stamp and paper.

My Mom painted each toothpick by hand because she couldn't find pink ones... Thank you Mom!!!
She unfolded the pin to look like a stork and stuck the toothpick in to make the beak :) How stinkin' cute is that???

I thought it was an adorable idea and everyone seemed to just love them :)

Chat soon!

XO, K
