Post Christmas Mode Monday!

Hello all! We're back in the groove of things with our blog and we are starting this year fresh with some new fun things! Annnnnd- we have exciting news! We have been asked to plan a wedding and help set-up another wedding, so we are excited to blog about these two things in the upcoming months! Plus, Kristin has baby girl joining the family in March, so there should be some great blog posts as that comes closer and closer ... so exciting!

Today for MM, I wanted to talk about my latest Stitch Fix. If you haven't checked out Stitch Fix I'll give you a quick explanation. You visit their website and go through a series of questions to sign up (questions like clothing sizes, outfit likes, etc). You can link them to a fashion board on Pinterest or your twitter (which I know they check because they've been spot on for me from my Pinterest board!) Then you pay $20 and sign up for a date to receive a fix. You get 5 pieces and have 3 days to try them on, then you keep whatever you'd like and send back (shipping already paid for!) what you don't. The $20 that you already paid is deducted from the total of whatever you'd like to buy. If you are interested in trying it- click here! I ordered one for myself as a Christmas present to me and here is what I got!

(Please ignore the hot mess of my dressing room) -- I thought this maxi was super cute, but it's hard to think maxi skirts here while it is 19 degrees. I sent it back.

My keeper!! Loved this cozy sweater, plus aztec print is so in right now. I did request to not have any more cardis sent to me, as I have gotten one in my last 3 fixes. But this one was affordable and cute so it will stay in my closet!

I love the idea of this bracelet, but did not like how it was blinged out in green. It was only those top three links that were green, but I think that took away from what you could wear it with. If it had been all gold, it would have stayed.

Super cute dress, but crazy enough I already have this exact same print/style in coral! I wear it in the spring/summer and I didn't think it would be worth it to me to have this dress in another color. It's more green/gold than it looks in the picture.

I really, really love this flannel, but it was WAY too expensive at $74. You can get flannels anywhere right now for so much cheaper! I had to send it back even though it was the cutest print and fit perfect. Broke my heart a little!

My next Stitch Fix comes in February as a birthday present to me. I love having a reason to get this little surprise in the mail!

Hi everybody!
Boy, I really need to sign up for Stitch Fix!!  I am so jealous by all of E's CUUUUUUUTE things!!!  It is definitely on my to-do list!!

Fab Friday-Christmas gift style!

Hi everyone!
Hope you all had an absolutely wonderful holiday!
E and I decided to chat about a gift that we were super excited about. It was a tough choice to narrow it down to one :)
I decided to show you our bench as we piece our dinning room table together :) It's almost done now! Just need the end arm chairs!
I fell in love with a bench just like this one at Pigeon in the Parlor in Holly MI. As soon as I decided to pull the trigger and buy it...6 months later... It was gone :( Fabulous Sue suggested that we have the same man make one just for us and she would chalk paint it for us. So, that's exactly what we did! I asked for it for Christmas from my sis, brother in law and nephew :)

I got a LOT of great gifts this year, but one that I just lovelove is my new Instax Mini 8! I had kind of hinted to Brandon that I wanted this guy after seeing it at Urban Outfitters. I love to take pics so having a polaroid just adds a little more fun to the mix! The hardest part is deciding what to take pictures of because you only get 10 pics per roll of film. It's so much fun!

A polaroid of our bar crawl yesterday :-) I can't wait to make a book of all my polaroids of 2014!

Hope you all had a great holiday -- we're looking forward to 2014!! XO, E&K

WW-Holiday Decor

It 's the MOST wonderful time of the year....!!!  Happy Holidays everyone!!!

I just LOVE this time...maybe minus the icky weather...

So we got our decorations up the weekend before Thanksgiving (yep, we were one of THOSE) and just love the vibe it brings to the house.  I could leave them up all year long!!  Now we are just waiting to get our live garland to hang outside with lights!

Happy decorating!!

XO, K

I don't have pics of all of my Christmas decor, but I did JUST get this wreath and ya'll, I am obsessed. I was gifted this wreath from an auction for a great cause in Clarkston and I can't even get over how much I love it. It is all vintage and one of a kind. No one will be able to have the same one! Some people may say it's weird, but me? I LOVE itttttt. Love it!

MM - Lovin' Us Some Yellow!

This weekend B and I took pictures for Christmas with my family, his family, and ourselves! We had 3 outfit changes on Sunday. It was pretty hilarious. Here I am in my new Kiki La'Rue essential top & scarf! If you don't know about this company, you NEED to follow @shopkikilarue on Instagram ...thats how I found them! They are fabulous and always doing random acts of kindness! And not to mention, their clothes are seriously adorable!

(I cut myself out of one of our photos, didn't want to ruin the surprise if my mom decided to use it for a Christmas card!)

Hello! K here!
Here is my outfit from today.  The students informed me that I looked like a banana split...whatever that means...awesome!

Jacket: Forever 21 // Top: Target // Dress: Forever 21 // Tights: Express // Boots:  Steve Madden (all super duper old...)

Fab Friday Find... Painted old wall sconce & a gnome!

Happy Black Friday everyone!!  Hope your Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful!

I hope, if you braved the stores today, you had a successful saving day and ALL your holiday shopping is now done...unlike mine :-)

My Friday find is NOT from today, but it is from the same day (and place) I found my chairs at Digs in Waterford. Mitch and I decided to stay close to home and walk (what a gorgeous morning) to breakfast and then get some things done around here.

It is an old gold wall sconce that was painted a beautiful blue...it went PERFECTLY with our master bedroom!!  So, since the price was more that right, I swooped it up!

**Ignore the fact that I have not yet put candles in it... :-)

I haven't decided if I should move it down on the wall or not.  So until it really bugs me...here it will stay.  :-)

And so! I (Elyse) did go out to black Friday shop, wow deals!! I got these gems from Target to add to my Christmas decor and I wanted to share because if you know me, you know I love gnomes! Target had a really cute light up Santa gnome, buttttt I think B would have killed me if I spent $40 on that guy. So, this lil blue fella and the deer I got to match will have to do!

And if you haven't checked out Target's Christmas decor, it's totally worth a look!

Enjoy your weekend!

With B out of town coaching skiing, this was his view yesterday ....

....so, I don't have any pics nearly as cute as K&M's. Here is my cousin, Aimee, and I snuggled up on the couch though!

HAAAAAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Fabulous Friday Finds

TGIF!!!!!!!! Boy, looking back that week zoomed by!!

Mitch and I have been consigning for chairs for our dinning room table (that we are made-and are ALMOST done with!!!) for quite some time now.  One side will be a bench, each end will have armed "coushie" chairs and the other side will have three armless chairs.

My dear friend, Bethany (and her precious baby girl) and I,  were out consignment shopping last weekend and I FINALLY found chairs that I LOVE!  They had the perfect character, rustic-ness and fab price we were looking for.  I had been to the Digs in Clarkston, but never the Digs in Waterford.  We went to both and I found these numbers at the Waterford location!  First time luck, I guess :-)

Here they are at their new home!

Once the table is complete, I will give a break down of what our creation consists of!!  Give us a couple weeks and I will show the end product. :-)

Have a GREAT weekend everyone!!

Whatever Wednesday-Gender Reveal!!

As Elyse and I pondered what to discuss this Wednesday, it dawned on us that I haven't filled you all in on my good news.....Mitch and I are expecting our first child March 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am currently 21 weeks :-)

So, we decided that we should tell you all about our gender reveal party we had last week.

Mitch and I went to the Dr. on a Tuesday, for our 20 week ultrasound, and asked the tech to put the gender in an envelope.  We had to turn our heads a couple times so we wouldn't see "the gender"...as if I would know what I was looking for (at the time) anyhow...

I called the local bakery the week prior and told them our plan.  We were to bring them the envelope after our appointment, they would give us the cupcake that had the correct gender color filling and Mitch and I would take it to dinner and eat it for dessert...if we could wait that long.

So, we got home, threw our stuff down and walked to the local bakery.  They were SO excited to see us :-)

Mitch and I carried the box further down the street and had dinner at a fabulous place called The Laundry.  We ate our entire dinner with the box just starring at us... We were tempted to look tho!!

So after dinner, we slowly opened the box and peeked at our cupcake...as if something was going to pop out of the box!

Mitch and I, both, were convinced it was a little man... but to our surprise...

It was PINK!!!!!!

It was SUCH a wonderful and excited day!!!  We just LOVED that we were able to share this special moment just the two of us.  There are so few exciting surprises left in the world, that this was a day I would remember always!

A while back we decided that we wanted to share the news with our immediate family in the same fashion.  So we sent these darling invites to the parents, siblings and grandparents. The party was to be a few days after Mitch and I found out....so it sure was tough to keep THAT secret!

The theme being "ties or tutu's" it seemed fitting to use the banner I fell in love with on Etsy.  Didn't she do a fabulous job???

***We ordered the same cupcakes for the fam

After dinner, everyone picked what flavor cupcake they wanted.  I was hard to keep the grandma's from cutting into the cupcakes...we had to watch them trying to peek :-)   We told everyone on the count of three they could bite (or cut) into the cupcake.  We turned the video on, counted back from three and everyone cut into the cakes at the same time.  Everyone was so excited, all you can hear was screaming.  I had to ask, "what do you see???"  Finally my sister at the end of the video yelled, "PINK!!"  It was so unbelievably fun to what everyone's excitement.  I will remember that moment always.

One may say, boy you sure dragged it out....but we loved every minute of all of it!  Seeing everyone's face was absolutely priceless.

I know the cupcake/reveal thing is all the rage right now, but it sure was a fabulous, fun and exciting week!!!

Talk to you soon!!
