We were thinking that Wednesdays were becoming a little repetitive and wanted to spice it up with something exciting that would help you get to know us a little better, so we came up with ... wait for it, it's genius ... Whatever Wednesday! Where we both (or solo) talk about whatever is on our minds!
Today we're talking date night ideas. It seems that it's all too often where we have a Friday or Saturday night with no place to go and no good ideas. For the Rosengrens, that happens the most in the winter (somehow I can always find my way to the pool in the summer, instant date/hang out spot!) So, here are some date night (or day!) suggestions that we have for ya'll!
1. Take a thrifting trip! B and I love thifting for nothing in particular and usually come back with something awesome! We actually like to do this with Ikea, too. You can spend forever in that store. And the best thing we do afterwards is stop for an appetizer or a beer at a new place we've never been to before. That's the best way to motivate B to shop!
Thrifting date day!
2. Do a themed happy hour! Basically every Friday in the winter, B and I have Friday happy hours because it's just a tad too cold to go out to the bar. We alternate who can pick the theme and then we part ways, get themed out, and then meet at our basement bar. Keeps our happy hours fun & exciting!
80s theme, baby.
3. Go to the mall! We actually have a game when we do this one. We each get a $5 limit and 1 hour to get the other person something with that $5. Last time we did this, I got B a shirt from Forever 21 (they have guy clothes, too!) and he got me a gift card for a restaurant (where we actually ended up spending more money). It was fun when we were running around the mall on a mission and actually passed each other about 15 minutes before time was up with nothing in our hands. It's hard to get someone something cool for under $5!
4. Go geocaching! Warning: this is my nerdy idea. There is a free app you can download on the iphone called "Geocaching" (the Intro is free...download that!) and there is a community out there where people will hide things in certain areas, you follow the directions on the app (these could be annnnywhere!) and when you find the "treasure" you sign your name on the log. Sometimes there are things to take, really teeny lil things, but the rule is that you have to leave something. It's a real thing, people! Click here if you want to read about it. (Told ya that one was nerdy)
Jenni & B the very first time we successfully found a geocache. Nerd fun!
Do you guys have any good date night ideas? We'd love to hear! We're always looking to change up our date nights!
XO, E&K
